A case of life imitating SketchUp, this. (Though I can't find the relevant model right now to prove it).
The wardrobes and shelves at the back there are the most complete part of our current first home adventures, and I'd say they're only about half way there.
We have a pretty small bedroom, you see, so we had to carefully consdier how we would be able to get enough storage for two people in. This seems to be working pretty well so far!
Oh, and tremendous thanks go out to my grandparents who gave us the rather natty lampshade!

Believe it or not they aren't even remotely standard construction. The wardrobe components too were not completely straightforward in their erection, either. Ahhh, anyway, it all seems to be working out okay so far!

Not a million miles from this shot I took a while back, I suppose. Slightly different light, mind.

I've been promising a few people photos of our new flat - here's what it mostly looks like right now!

I've been promising a few people photos of our new flat, but it's still mostly under a mountain of cardboard remains - the leftovers of our recent flat-packing adventures.
So here are some pictures of my new route to and from work instead. It's about twenty-five minutes, and about ten of them are dominated by the marvelous Holyrood Park.
Of course, I could live in London...

Ooooh, video on Flickr, eh? Well now let's see...
After seeing Theo Jansesn's wonderful Strandbeest sculptures I decided to make my own walking machine! Lego were the only parts I had to hand, though, so here's the result!
The music is the excellent Spanish Flea as performed by the even more excellent George Garabedian Players and the Awful Trumpet of Harry Arms, of whom you can hear much more here.

There was a big fire on an Edinburgh construction site over the weekend, and we couldn't resist going to have a gawp with the rest of the populace.
Also, check out the unintentional 'tricolore' effect of these onloookers...

This is the living room in our new flat!
It still looks a bit small to me, but Alison assures me that once she's finished we'll both fit in there...
Note: Hey, nifty! This is my 3000th photo!
It photographs, it listens, and it monkeys with the best of em. Truly - is there anything the Daveybot does not do?!
